Why Family Adventure?

What is Family Adventure?

Fun, food, fellowship and faith are what we are all about!

- Fun

God is a God of joy and life! Because of this we see having fun in a holy way completely in line with the heart of God. We will be doing crafts, games, and more!

- Food

Jesus seems to spend almost more time eating with people than anything else! If eating with people is what Jesus did (even having one of his most important moments, the Last Supper, involve food) then we are going to eat a meal too! We will also be conscious of any food allergies as well. Kids will eat with kids, adults with adults, and teens with teens, so that we can have some more intentional fellowship within our ages. Speaking of fellowship...

- Fellowship

Jesus spend so much time walking, talking and having fellowship with his disciples. This allows for true, holy relationships to form - and God is all about holy relationships. We desire to see some of these form as well! Adults will even get to pray and chat with others adults who can related to what they are going through.

- Faith

Everything we do is because of our faith in Jesus - the one who gives us life, love, joy, and peace! We desire to see everyone experience this joy-filled wholeness through having faith in Jesus as well. Adults will specifically be resourced with helpful tools around parenting, financial stewardship, marriage, wholistic living, and more through the lens of Jesus.

Where is Family Adventure?

Family Adventure this year will be at Jefferson Barns Vitality and Community Center in the Norwayne community! Our hope is that all people in this region will feel welcome to join us. We do not desire to have Family Adventure at our church building because we want to go to the people, not expect them to come to us. Jefferson Barns allows us do this and also offer something for our people from WFMC to grow too!

Volunteer Sign Up

If you want to help click HERE to email our Camp director with at least one desired preference below, and also include if you would prefer to work every Sunday evening or just a few select dates.

Areas to serve:

Nursery Team (2-3 people to watch the volunteer children only who are too young for the program.)
Donation Team (2 people) - Collecting, organizing, and distributing donations to the group leaders.
Check In/Out Desk & Hall Monitor (3 people) - Checking children in and out of family camp & monitoring the hallways to make sure no random people are in the hallways.
Photographers (1 person) - taking photographs for the church’s use.
Craft Leader (1 person) - Deciding which crafts will be done for each Sunday of the camp. Organizing a team of assistants to help facilitate the crafts. Making a list of supplies that’s needed..
Craft Team (2-3 people) - Assisting the craft leader and assisting children with crafts.
Meal Team (2-4 people) - Deciding the meal for each Sunday. Organizing and facilitating a team of assistants to help with feeding children and picking up food. (Preparing food may be picking up food from a restaurant.)
Activities Leader (1-2 people) - Deciding and organizing games and/or activities for each Sunday of family camp. Organizing a team of assistants to help facilitate games and/or activities.
Activities Team (2-5 people) - Assisting the activities leader. Organizing and assisting the children with games and/or activities.
Music Team (2-3 people) - Following along with the music video, singing and dancing with the children.
Host / Assembly Leader (1-5 people) - Begin each day with the children. Welcome the children, pray, and maybe a short story. One person can do each day or we can have a different person every day.
Teacher for 3-5yr olds (1 person) - Review the daily lesson with your group.
Teacher for 5-8 yr olds (1 person) - Review the daily lesson with your group.
Teacher for 8-12 yr olds (1 person) - Review the daily lesson with your group.
Small group volunteers (6 people) - Attend each class with your age group and assist the children in the class.
