Andy Bentz
Hi! I’m Pastor Andy. I have had the joy of serving in Westland since the summer of 2017. I am married to my beautiful wife, Ashley, for 16 years. In April 2021 we officially adopted our first son, Hunter, after fostering him for nearly 2 years. And in December of 2023, we had the joy of adopting Jacarie and Selayah. We also have an energetic dog, Libby.
I enjoy sports (especially football and baseball) and being outside in the beauty of God’s creation. In the summer months, there’s nothing I’d rather be doing than spending time fishing in my kayak. I also enjoy golf, exercise, and reading (even though I only make it 2/3 of the way through a book before I’m ready for the next one 😁).
I’ve been following Jesus from a pretty early age, and to be honest, I can’t imagine life apart from Him. In high school, I sensed a call to full-time pastoral ministry. I spent some time in training and preparation for this call at Spring Arbor University and Asbury Theological Seminary.
Being a pastor is hard work. There are good days and discouraging days. But nothing gives me more joy than seeing others come fully alive to who God created them to be through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
I’m not perfect—I’m a work in progress. And I’m trying to live my life in such a way that the love of Jesus will flow through me to those around me. If you’re looking for a place to belong, and experience the love of Jesus, and discover what you’re here for, I invite you to join us!
